The base that I received was not flat on the bottom and therefore rocks on the desk. Also when the lamp is extended out any distance the whole assembly falls over. The base feels fairly heavy but was unusable for its intended purpose.I had wanted to use the base so that the lamp could be moved around easily, instead I ended up just clamping the lamp to the desk.
