Murray Feiss One-Light Hudson Heights Collection Table Lamp, Gilded Silver with Round Cream Textured Linen/Styrene Shade # 9395GS Review

I am extremely diappointed with this lamp. Based on the picture I anticipated the base would be a shiny, smooth silver. The color is a matte silver-gray. There is also a distinct grainy texture to the metal. It feels like paint was applied to the metal without first prepping or sanding the finish. I was even more appauled to find when I ran my hand over the body small bits of the giled silver paint "fleckled" off into my hand.

The mechanics for the on / off switch feel extremely cheap. There was a lot of "wiggle" in the three way switch not associated with the rotation of the knob. The housing around the switch is a piece of high gloss plastic- not metal as should come with a $300 lamp.

I understand this is beyond the scope of this review but my light had clearly been opened prior to my sale. The interior styrofoam protection was cracked and the piece mounting the lampshade to the base was missing. I am so glad I purchased this product through Amazon.com and not a third party vendor. I would have resented having to pay for return shipping.

What positive things can I say? It is a heavy lamp so it retains good stability. The design is very modern and will certainly draw attention if used in an appropriately themed living space, but that's it. I can not recommend this product for anyone. Even for the $81.00 I paid, it wasn't worth it. I returned it within minutes of opening it.
