Electrix Illumination 7121-BK Fluorescent magnifier swing arm clamp-on lamp, 45 reach, black Review

This is a heavy duty lamp that has been sold for many years. The reach is very long, extending almost 45 inches, and the magnifying lens element is very clear and usable. The clamp for attaching it to a desk/surface is robust. I liked the fact that this was a proven design made in the USA but this is also where the lamp earned four stars instead of five. The main problem was that there was a wave washer (spacer) sticking out of the end of the arms where it attaches to the lamp head. This had to be removed and then the rest of the assembly tightened up with hand tools. The repairs only took ten minutes but it was a disappointment. Also as a minor nit pick the manufactures label on the base is on crooked. After repairs this is a very nice lamp that has stronger arms, better reach, and a much better magnifying lens element than the similar but cheaper lamps that you can find in the office stores. Note: I also did a review of the weighted base that can be purchased separately that was totally unsatifactory.
