DaVinci Mailbox by HouseArt Review

The steel powdercoated mailbox rusts at all joints and connecting points. While the design is very attractive it is not durable and therefor overpriced. Houseart, which sells this product through a number of distributors under the name Davinci and Wingall, is not able to sell the stainless steel version. Unless the stainless version becomes available at a reasonable price, I do not recommend this product.

Giro Apple Slicer by Mono Review

So simple and so useful. It works like a charm and if you don't finish the apple (or Asian pear, or any other firm fruit) just leave the slicer attached and stick the whole thing in the fridge until you want it, The fruit won't oxidize or pick up any unusual flavors.
I like to have 1 or 2 on a cheese tray and let guests play with it.

LED Dimmable House Hold Light Bulb: 40 watt warm white incandescent replacement bulb Color: Warm White Review

This bulb made more TV interference than any other LED bulb I purchased.It interfered with one weak station when the bulb was at one end of the apartment and the TV and its antenna were at the other end of the apartment.I worry about whether it could interfere with TVs in other apartments.6 out of 12 LED bulbs I tried made at least a little TV interference.
That's too bad, since otherwise this was a better than average LED for the price.Many LED bulbs are sold with a statement that they replace a conventional bulb that makes more lumens of light.They say this bulb is a replacement for a 40 watt bulb.The [...] web site says the natural white version of this bulb makes 360 lumens of light and the warm white version makes 330 lumens.I got the natural white version since it makes more light.Some 40 watt bulbs in stores claim about 450 lumens while 2 kinds of 40 watt equivalent compact fluorescent bulbs I have say 520 and 550 lumens. When I tried it this bulb seemed to me to be slightly dimmer than a 40 watt bulb.The $26 current price in Amazons Home and Garden department is cheaper than some LED bulbs of this brightness.The bulb arrived in a few days by U S Mail.
Incidentally, as of June 2, 2010 Amazon has this same bulb, or at least the warm white version,or something that looks the same, in Tools and Home Improvement for $33.98 and in Home and Garden for $[...].

RiteLite Wireless LED Clipping Task Light Review

Lamp is elegant andof a good size,but the light is not Super bright AT ALL, but rather dim.In addition, the lamp head is very loose and despite attempts to tighten the screws,the head flops over,so that the light illuminates more of the wall than the desk.I do not recommend this lamp.

If you hate getting up in the dark on those dreary winter mornings, this simple timer device can be a godsend.All you need to do is plug it into the wall eight hours before you want the light to go on.You choose whichever light you prefer and you can also use the natural light bulbs included.Then eight hours later your light will gradually come on over the course of about 15 minutes, simulating the dawn rising.The timer will automatically turn off the light on hour later.The process then repeats itself the next day.

Pros--Simple device, easy to use, the timer is accurate, and not as expensive as other dawn simulators. You won't squint at bright lights when you first get up.

Cons--When you first plug it in, you have to be sure to plug it in exactly eight hours before you want it to go on.Also, there is no way to check if your light is off or on when it is plugged into the timer (which can be confusing if you and/or your partner turn off the light for weekend mornings).To do so, you have to unplug it from the timer and plug it into a different socket (and with the light off, this can be hard to do--have a flashlight with you).If you unplug the timer to use the same socket then you will have to be sure replug it in exactly eight hours before you want the light to come on.

Overall, using this simulator we find it much easier to get our of bed in the winter.Our 9-year-old daughter was so envious of it, that she begged for us to give her one for her room as a Christmas present.

Micro Headlamp Review
