Tolomeo Mini Table Task Lamp by Artemide Review

The Tolomeo look has been a classic for some time and I have recently taken the plunge and bought a few of these for my home office.The quality of the construction is an order of magnitude beyond the typical desk lamps you can get at big box stores--which is good, given that the price tag is of similar higher caliber.

The lamp takes regular light bulbs, the cables are strong and hold the lamp in place but without making the lamp hard to adjust.The lamp is a bit larger than what you might expect; it can easily lean over and illuminate a larger area than typical $30 desk lamps--which I find great.I am using two of these on my 7 x 3 ft writing desk and have plenty of task light.

The upside to the current down economy is that you can find these lamps for 30% off if you shop around.I've long loved the timeless look and don't regret buying these at all.

Orbiter Glass Shade Table Lamp Review

This is a terrific table or desk lamp.It is attractive, modern, functional and the brushed steel body is strikingly beautiful. It makes a particularly attractive desk lamp.The frosted glass shade diffuses light very well and is easy on the eyes.My only complaint, and it is a mild one, is that the assembly instructions should be better and the directions as to the kind of light bulbs that can, and cannot, be used in the lamp should be much clearer. This is an all too common kind of complaint.Regardless, I would buy this lamp again and I strongly recommend it to others.

Zelco "itty bitty" Original Book Light Review

Twin Pull Chain Gourd Shaped Table Lamp Review

I really like these lamps. I was looking for something a little more modern but came upon these. They are a nice mix of modern and traditional.

The shades are very nicely done. The footprint of the lamp is small.

I was, however, expecting them to be a little taller. They almost seem like they'd be better as boudoir lamps rather than living room lamps.

My experience with the vendor, Lamps Plus, was excellent. My first delivery was stolen off my porch, but Lamps Plus replaced the delivery, which came very quickly. I will do business with them again.

In terms of looks the lamp does not disappoint. The paper shades with the bamboo imprint filter and mute the light an create a nice ambiance without being too dark - ideal for a bedroom nightstand. The construction, while not shoddy, is also not solid enough to risk placing the lamp in high traffic areas - I doubt the frame would survive a fall off of a hallway accent table, for example. I improved the stability significantly by simply gluing the top portion, which is left loose intentionally to make changing the bulb easier, into place permanently. You can still swap out the bulb via the bottom if you do this.

A nifty and unique item that will lend a bit of authentic looking Asian style to your home.

This light bulb burns brighter than a dimmed light bulb; and it is less harsh on the eyes than a light bulb of greater strength. The bulb lasts 750 hours--great value and efficiency! The glass is rather well constructed so that if you accidentally drop the bulb before you use it you just might save it from ruin, especially if you drop it onto a carpeted floor. A single light bulb lights a 10 foot by 10 foot room fairly well. Excellent!

Insert a new light bulb into the socket of the lamp (or whatever needs the light bulb) and screw it in until you feel that the bulb is snug and secure in the socket. Then turn on the lamp or whatever device you're using and--voilà! Your bulb works for the next 750 hours. That can be months if you're careful with your energy bill.

The bulbs stay fresh for several months at least after you buy them; this is a great feature if you need to stock up on light bulbs for any reason. Obviously, these electric light bulbs must never go near water and or any other liquid. Dispose of them carefully so that any glass won't break and hurt anyone if they walk around barefoot in the house.

Overall, these 75 watt light bulbs by GE fit the bill very nicely. They are economical, easy to install and remove and they stay "fresh" for months after you purchase them. They take up very little room in any closet while you're waiting to use them, too.

I highly recommend these light bulbs for lamps or vanities that require 75 watt light bulbs.

This is a cheaply-made lamp, for sure.The base is all made of pretty thin, weak plastic.It works fine, but IT IS NOT RATED FOR A 75 WATT BULB AS DESCRIBED (which is why I bought it).It is only rated for a 60W bulb, like any other desk lamp.All in all, nothing special.

I kind of like this lamp.It's made well and with a 60 watt bulb, it illuminates nicely.I found it a little odd that the actual electrical cord held the lamp on the hooks (provided).Although the lamp is very light, I would have preferred to have a thin, simple chain as the support.It's something you can surely add to later.The cord is nice and long with the switch low enough that you can hang the lamp pretty high if you wanted to.It's nice in the corned of a room or above a small dining table.

This was a gift for our 7 year old daughter so she could read in her bed. It is very cute and the light is ideal for reading. The switch is awesome - just a touch turns it on or off. She loves it and it looks very cute in her room.

BlueMax 42w White Work Station Lamp Review

I purchased this lamp 3 1/2 years ago for $129.95 and expected it to far outlast its two year warranty. Most of us assume that when we spend $100.00+ for a desk lamp it will last more than a couple of years but alas that was not my experience with this lamp. It just died, won't go on, period. Unfortunately it is out of warranty and after calling its manufacturer, Full Spectrum Solutions, I was informed that they have no viable solutions for me so I now have a very expensive door stop. So consider very carefully when you plop down $100.00 for this lamp or $170.00 for its 72 watt sibling if you would still make the purchase knowing that this lamp may only last 3-4 years at best. About 10 years ago I bought 3 desk lamps from Verilux (sold here on Amazon) and guess what - they all still work perfectly and cost half as much as this lamp. When it worked it was very bright and I found that I rarely if ever used the dimmer function. I was not much brighter than the Verilux however and certainly not worth the extra $$$.

After 4 months of very limited use, my lamp failed. It could be a balest problem, however, the balast is non-standard (tiny). I attempted to change the bulb, just in case, only to discover that (even though the marketing metions a replacement bulb that can be purchased), the light unit is sealed (internal metal crimping) and cannot be replaced. I gave the lamp a star, because it did produce a good light and looked good; nevertheless it obviously isn't worth the money.

10" Counter Balance Floor Lamp Polished Brass/Black Review

The House of Troy piano floor lamp is perfect for use with a grand piano and is worth the price. It is attractive, solid, and well-made. I was tired of having lamps sitting on the piano and ending up in the way of music. The PFL-617 sits along side the piano and out of the way. The arm is easily adjustable and puts the light right where you need it.

Most of my family plays the piano and loves the lamp. I've had mine for a year now and have just ordered one as a Christmas gift for my mom.

Clamp On Lamp - Swing Arm Collection Chrome Finish Review

This "clamp on" lamp features an idiotic clamp design- a curved "L" shaped bolt that slips into the plastic base of the lamp. The problem with this design is that if the weight of the lamp is slightly off center- say if you want to extend it or rotate it around, thus rocking it- you will unavoidably cause the entire clamp assembly to fall apart and the lamp will come crashing down. For $20 it's not worth sending back, but if I had it to do over again I would definitely NOT buy this lamp.

Dale Tiffany Metal Art Series Brass Balance Arm Desk Lamp Review

I did not order this lamp from Amazon- I ordered directly from the Lamps Plus website.

This lamp was broken when it arrived. It was actually packed broken- did not break in transit....

The round fulcrum was completely snapped off from the balance arm. There were also several scratches, the worst being on the shade itself where there were 5-6 inch-long, parallel scratches that went all the way through the 'brass finish' which is nothing more than cheap paint.

This is going back ASAP.

I cannot believe someone could seriosuly have packed and shipped this lamp looking the way it did when I opened the 'homemade' wrapping materials.

I have purchased very nice lamps from the Lamps Plus site- not sure what happened with the Dale Tiffany.. junk.
